Long disputed sandmining on South Smoky beach now proven.
Alongside NP&WS NSW, South West Rocks Community Dune Care volunteers have dealt with this environmental legacy, and others, for thirty years with tremendous effect, perhaps most notably the rescue of the beautiful Smoky Range from the blight of Bitou bush and other destabilising weeds.
A proposed solution to the eternal lack of funding – expand and support the volunteer movement at state or even national level.
Why? Because Australian volunteers are not concerned about profits, they simply love their country and apply that strength in practical, ongoing ways that educate by example to the benefit of our entire polity.
